Apple Pie Oatmeal – Breakfast

Nothing says breakfast than oats in the morning. But nothing says comfort than Apple Pie. This easy Apple Pie Oatmeal, with cinnamon, apples, and pecan oatmeal recipe takes less than 5 minutes to prepare. If you are looking for a warm breakfast, that is whole food, plant base, vegan and vegetarian option on the go, try out this quick and easy recipe.

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Gluten Free Quick or Rolled Oats (We use Anthony’s Organic GF Rolled Oats)
1 small to medium size apple (Sliced and Cubed)
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 Teaspoon of Banana Extract (Optional)
1/4 Cup Chopped Pecans (or Almonds)
Ground Cinnamon
1 Tsp of Raw Organic Honey
or Organic Maple Syrup

Instructions

  • Add 3/4 cup of water In a medium size bowl
  • Add Oats and set the microwave for 2 minutes
  • Cook the Oats for 1 to 1:30 minutes and remove the bowl from the microwave
  • Add the chopped/cubed apples only at this time (Keep some sliced apples as a topping) and heat up the oats for the remaining 30 seconds
  • Remove the bowl, and mix the cooked oats and warm apples until the desired thickness or cooking preference (Cook longer, or add additional water if you prefer)
  • Mix in the vanilla and banana extract
  • Top with sliced apples, chopped pecans, and cinnamon
  • Drizzle some honey over the apples and oatmeal mixture and Enjoy!
